As we age, not only does our facial skin progressively lose its elasticity and start to sag but changes in the deeper layers also contribute to the signs of ageing.  The bone and soft tissues degenerate, especially in the mid-face and this leads to loss of the prominence of the cheeks and flattening of the facial features.  Specifically, the descent of the cheek fat pad results in a decrease of the facial fullness.

By adding volume to the cheeks, the former youthful facial fullness can be restored and enhanced thereby lessening the signs of ageing.

Specific thicker consistency Dermal Fillers are now available for non-surgical cheek augmentation such as Emervel Volume™ and Juvederm Voluma™ which restore lost facial volume and provide skin structure and elasticity.

Juvederm Volumaâ„¢ and Emervel Volumeâ„¢ are smooth injectable gels that are made from a natural complex sugar called Hyaluronic acid (HA) and are the thickest of the Juvederm and Emervel ranges. Naturally found in human skin, HA also assists in skin hydration by attracting and holding water. They are specially formulated to be used deep in the skin to add natural looking volume to the midface and cheek bone areas.

Dr Parekh has been using Juvederm Volumaâ„¢ and Emervel Volumeâ„¢ for mid and lower face enhancement since their launch with amazing results. With the addition of Lidocaine (anaesthetic) within the products there is no need for additional numbing. Thus Dr Parekh can quickly and safely numb each individual area as they are treated reducing the need for further injections. The entire treatment process can take less than 1 hour, during which time there is minimal pain.

The patient has control over the results of the procedure by looking in a hand held mirror and advising Dr Parekh of his/her opinion of the progress of the procedure.

What are the side effects of Cheek Enhancement?
Immediately after treatment, you may experience some swelling, slight tenderness, mild redness and possibly a little bruising in the area.  This is normal following this type of procedure.  The inconvenience is temporary and usually disappears in 1-2 weeks.  In the meantime any bruising can be covered with make-up.

How long will Cheek Enhancement last?
You can expect to receive instant, natural looking and long lasting results with Juvederm Voluma and Emervel Volume.

The final results will be evident about a week after the swelling goes down. These thicker forms of Dermal Fillers will last up to 18 months. When the correction eventually disappears you can either repeat it or not repeat it without any consequence.

How much does it cost?
This basically depends on how many syringes of Dermal Filler are used.  Dr Parekh will give you an exact costing at your free consultation once he has determined how many syringes are likely to be required.
